Dr. Xu received his medical degree from the Norman Bethune Health Science Center of Jilin University at 1991 and completed training in general surgery at Jilin University Second Hospital. Having been engaging in clinic practice, training program and basic research of breast disease over two decades, Dr. Xu is studying tumor metabolism and metabolic effects of breast cancer in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of oncology researchers.
Dr. Xu is the council member of Chinese Society of Breast Surgeons (CSBS), China Medicine Education Association (CMEA), Chinese Medicine Education Association of Professional Commettee of the Mammary Gland Disease, as well as China Anti-Cancer Association. He is working for the Jilin Society of Breast Surgeons, Jilin Anti-Cancer Association as Chair. Also, he is the member of Jilin Society of General Surgeons and Changchun Arbitration Commission. Having established the first Port-A-Cath training project and department of Breast Surgery in Jilin University, Dr. Xu focused on the diagnosis of breast cancer, trying to improve multiple surgical techniques and develop novel therapeutic strategies against breast cancer. Dr. Xu visited National University Hospital of Singapore (NUH) for the introduction of Mammotome System. To date, Dr. Xu and his team have published many research articles and clinic case reports on SCI journals. His research team is sponsoring and participating in several national and provincial scientific research projects. Recently, Dr. Xu has been awarded for their achievements in the field of breast cancer treatment. On top of his clinical practice, Dr. Xu has been actively involved in undergraduate medical education and post-graduate surgical training as a professor at the Second Hospital of Jilin University.
